Don’t count out the Pipeline Pro yet. The contest permit is for January 27-February 9.
It probably won’t be a 5 star and maybe not even a 4 star, but it still might go off. We are talking to two more possible sponsors who are interested. It may only be a 2 star event, but that is better than nothing.
The contest is the qualifier for the Hawaiian wild cards for the Billabong Pipeline Masters, the last contest of the year. It is also a proving ground for young North Americans and worldwide WQS surfers.
Keep your eyes on the schedule. There won’t be much time to enter and get your tickets if the sponsorship money comes through.
