melbourne beach surf report
Monday: Knee to thigh with lucky bigger sets form the ESE with and ENE smaller component. Strong offshore winds will be adding some texture.
melbourne beach surf forecast
Tuesday: Winds shift to the north, and an 8 sec northeast swell develops from a nearby low-pressure system.
Looking Ahead: Wednesday should deliver favorable surf conditions as the northeast swell continues and winds become more cooperative, expect the biggest size south of the Cape but it should be fun at most spots. A new front moves through Thursday afternoon, shifting strong winds offshore which may hollow the waves out for us a bit.
There should still be leftover surf from the NE swell in the waters but we are on a downward trend into the weekend. Winds shift north on Friday but clean up late in the day and stay favorable on Saturday for some smaller but ridable surf. We are back to small conditions on Sunday. As always with the NE swells, central and southern regions will see the better end of it.
I’ll be out in Little Rock for my other job for the rest of the week so the next update will be Monday the 24th. Have a great week everyone! - Bryan

melbourne beach surf break information
At the western end of Ocean Avenue on the Indian River is historic Ryckman Park which has gazebos and many sports activities besides a 430-foot pier. Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge along A1A is known as a haven for sea turtles and, in fact, about one-fourth of the turtles that nest in the United States do so at this refuge each summer.
With the abundance of wildlife on this barrier island, there are plenty of places to get close to nature. Three hiking trails you might want to check out are:
● Coconut Point Sanctuary (3/4 mile loop)
● Maritime Hammock Sanctuary (Two mile trail)
● Mountain Bike Trail (Connects Long Point Park and Sebastian Inlet State Recreation Area)
There have been many treasure finds due to Spanish ships that were lost along the east coast of Florida during hurricane season. The McLarty Treasure Museum and the Mel Fisher Treasure Museum are about 15 miles south of Melbourne Beach, Florida in Sebastian.
