melbourne beach surf report
Monday: Knee to thigh high from the east at around 7-8 sec. Winds are onshore at about 10 mph. As you head south of the Space Coast the winds pick to the mid teens up making for choppier shorter period but a little bigger surf.
melbourne beach surf forecast
Tuesday: Surf is staying knee to thigh high from the east with brisk onshore winds south of the Palm Coast. North Florida should see lighter winds and cleaner conditions.
Looking ahead: Summer conditions continue for the rest of the week.
We’ve got our first area of interest in the Atlantic—Invest 90L. It’s currently located about 600 miles east of Bermuda (roughly 1,500 miles off the Florida coast) with sustained winds near 35 mph. Given its distance, I'm not expecting much surf from this system.
At the moment, it’s just north of the edge of the 80-degree water line but is tracking northeast. By Wednesday, it’ll likely move into cooler waters (around 70 degrees) it will also encounter a low-pressure front and that combination should cause the system to collapse midweek.
So while it does have a very generous 70% chance of forming into a named storm according to the National Hurricane Center it probably won't last.

melbourne beach surf break information
At the western end of Ocean Avenue on the Indian River is historic Ryckman Park which has gazebos and many sports activities besides a 430-foot pier. Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge along A1A is known as a haven for sea turtles and, in fact, about one-fourth of the turtles that nest in the United States do so at this refuge each summer.
With the abundance of wildlife on this barrier island, there are plenty of places to get close to nature. Three hiking trails you might want to check out are:
● Coconut Point Sanctuary (3/4 mile loop)
● Maritime Hammock Sanctuary (Two mile trail)
● Mountain Bike Trail (Connects Long Point Park and Sebastian Inlet State Recreation Area)
There have been many treasure finds due to Spanish ships that were lost along the east coast of Florida during hurricane season. The McLarty Treasure Museum and the Mel Fisher Treasure Museum are about 15 miles south of Melbourne Beach, Florida in Sebastian.
