melbourne beach surf report
Wednesday: Small day. Knee high with lucky bigger sets for most. Strong NW winds are pushing down the surf in most spots.
melbourne beach surf forecast
Thursday: Winds start brisk and onshore but then vary in strength and direction as an area of high pressure moves over the state but they should stay moderate for the afternoon. Wave size may tick up just a bit to the thigh with a few bigger sets zone but should be pretty clean.
Looking ahead: We see a little dip in the surf on Friday with moderate onshore winds. There might be a touch more size south of the Cape. I’m still seeing a possibility for a little bump on Saturday but SE winds in the low teens will chop it up a bit. On Sunday we are looking at strong South winds so a south protected spot will be the way to go if you plan to paddle out. Winds shift to the North for the start of next week setting up for a choppy North wind swell turning onshore and bringing some big chunky conditions for next week. The models are in disagreement of what happens next as an area of low pressure moves over the state and into the Atlantic so stay tuned.
