Tuesday:
Gulfsters: Mostly small. We may see a little bump start filtering in from Milton with NE winds inthe mid teens.
Panhandle: 10 S/SW 10 sec waist high swell starts to fill in as the day goes on. 10 mph NE winds keeping conditions decent.
Looking ahead:
Gulfsters: On Wednesday the hurricane and swell swell get Gnarly so it’s best to hunker down. Hurricane washing machine conditions for Thursday. Onshore winds turn to the North later in the day but stay strong. Possible smaller leftovers for Friday morning with north winds in the mid teens keeping it choppy though. If, and that’s a big IF, you decide to paddle out, watch out for debris in the water and check your sandbars first because this will shift everything again. Going back to smaller conditions for the weekend.
Panhandle: Wednesday Strom swell with strong NE winds. Thursday leftover storm swell with N/NE winds that drop to the low teens by the end of the day. This might be the day to keep an eye on so be ready, especially if the storm moves a little more to the South. We are dropping off for Friday. Maybe a few lucky leftovers but don’t expect much.
Hurricane Milton has intensified into a Category 3 Hurricane. It is forecast to reach a Cat 4 while passing over the warm waters of the Loop Current and then back to a 3 before making landfall near Tampa.
