20th Annual Sisters of the Sea Surf Classic

Local surf club,
Sisters of the Sea (SOS), announce the
Eidon Surf Presents the 20th Annual Sisters of the Sea Surf Classic on
Saturday, September 15, 2018 on the south side of the
Jacksonville Beach Pier. The all female surf contest begins at
8:00 AM. Registration is
$40 per division pre-registration and $60 per division at the beach, if slots available. Divisions include novice or advanced: Shortboard and Longboard, Stand Up Paddle, Tandem and for fun, a “Twisted Sister” heat for the guys who are willing to dress as surf sisters. Enter online at
sistersofthesea.surfsignup.com. The contest is capped at the
first 150 entries and each participant receives a goodie bag full of great swag. Entry
deadline is September 13h at noon.
Sisters of the Sea
donates all of the proceeds of their event to
‘Bosom Buddies’ at the Women’s Center of Jacksonville. This group provides education to women at high risk for breast cancer and support for women and families affected by breast cancer. SOS has donated over
$100,000 to ‘Bosom Buddies’ in the
past 19 years, including a donation of $10,000 in 2015 & 2016. “We are proud to have been able to use the Surf Classic as a way to give back to our community, elevate women’s surfing, create lasting friendships and have fun. I am looking forward to the next twenty years as there is so much more we can do for our community and surf sisters.” Spoken by founding member and new President, Samantha Ryan.
The mission of Sisters of the Sea is striving towards friendship, wave knowledge and beach improvement.
