Monday Night Football Main Street Pub

Grab a beer and a slider for the game

Rrrrrrrr! It’s your good old Kapn. Bone here with another local food review. This week takes us to a Surfguru favorite, Mainstreet Pub. We watched as the old Parker Brothers was transformed by the Mainstreet crew into a multi theme bar which started the downtown makeover in Melbourne. Tonight we were invited to try the Monday Nigh Football menu at the Pub. We as always were greeted by the friendly staff as we entered, Danielle seated us out side so that we would have plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy our meal. Well to our surprise they brought out the entire Menu! Susie Q. The lead Chef and banquet manager has probably forgotten more about fine food than most chefs know, our own little Lean mean Paula Dean cooking machine!

To start we were treated to the Pub’s original Peach Lacquered Chicken wings. These babies are baked not fried and really delicious, then and old favorite, BBQ wings also baked with a Smokehouse finish that everyone loves. To go along with our wings we had a couple of the coldest beers on tap. As we move through the Menu we notice the prices, I don’t know about you but in these times of financial troubles it’s nice to see a place that looks out for you and for about twelve dollars you and your friends can have the entire Monday Night Menu! On our platter we had the Colossal Pub Pretzel A huge soft old style pretzel with Creole mustard just like Downtown Philly! Onto the Roast beef sliders thinly sliced on a nice soft roll, butter. A crock of “O” Chili with just the right amount of spice. A couple of Pub dog’s with all the trimmings. All of your old favorite foods and for Monday Night Football, dollar Drafts and Bud light from eight till closing. Susie had to treat us to her Crunchy Wonton Dippers a wonderful Wonton stuffed with Jamaican spiced beef Cheddar and Jack cheese and topped with Black and White Sesame Seeds with a Sweet Chili Sauce on the side.

The best thing about the Pub is that if you want a change of scenery you have three uniquely different Bars an Old Irish bar an outside Tiki bar and upstairs to the Martini bar where you have to try the Godiva Chocolate Martini, my favorite.

There you have it, right there in Downtown Melbourne Three bars great food and prices and an attractive staff. Next year we will be having a drink with Joe and Tom we miss you guy’s.

When you go to Mainstreet look up Scott and have him make you a freshly squeezed Mohito, Kapn. Bone out…
