It’s your good old Kapn. Bone here with this weeks food review. Buddha and I had the pleasure of being invited to the “Concepts on Highland” for a fantastic dining experience. As we walked in I realized that many years before this establishment was a bank! Now Chef Grant has transformed it to a quaint, well stocked establishment right there in the downtown Eau Gallie district. We were greeted by L.A. our server and escorted to a well set table. To start our culinary adventure we were served the “Baby Spinach Salad” A beautiful creation of slivered shallots, dried cranberries, toasted walnuts, Gala apples tossed in a Maple vinaigrette finished with fried goat cheese, simply fantastic. This was such a festive salad with the walnuts and cranberries just in time for Thanksgiving.
Next we sampled the Pan Seared Maryland Crab Cakes with a delicious remoulade, Light and tasty one hundred percent crab with a remoulade and balsamic vinegar for a nice kick at the end. On to our dinner entrees, The first thing that you notice is that the plating of the food is a work of art, Chef Grant is of the classic Nuevo cuisine with healthy, fresh ingredients used in all of his dishes. We were happily served Walnut Crusted Pork Loin, this had to be the most juiciest and flavorful pork loin that I have ever had. The spiced butternut squash, apples and pears prepared in a cider demi -glace was off the charts. Next L.A. brought us the Herb Roasted Chicken Brest, this another feast for the eyes. Normally chicken breast is not something that you order when your out but this was something that was done so specially, stuffed with bacon, baby spinach, three cheeses and was accompanied with sautéed zucchini and summer squash finished with a lemon-basil cream sauce. I’ll bet that it will impress.
To finish off our meal a great big piece of Death by Chocolate, how did they know it was my favorite! The wonderful thing about Concepts is that it’s the perfect personalized restaurant, any thing that you would care to try will be made just for you. The service is excellent with all our needs met by L.A. This is the perfect “Date Night” spot, honestly is there a woman out there that does not enjoy going to the bank? Concepts is set up for catering, private parties and small meeting in the Vault room, don’t miss this place...
