Sashamon brings Hawaiian vibe to Rusty's

Rusty's rocks island style.

The positive vibrations flowed this past Saturday night at Rusty's Oyster Bar in Port Canaveral. Rhett Fischer put together an amazing night of roots, reggae, and island music. The Rusty's crew shut down the parking lot and brought the party outside. All in honor of special musical guest Sashamon. Rusty's was the only Brevard County stop on the 2009 Toes on The Nose Surf, Roots, music tour.

The rich aromas of Rusty's seafood fare and outside bar-b-q filled the air and the drinks flowed cold. Then, as the sun set and locals the Naturalistics finished their set off; perfectly setting the mood for a fun-filled evening of great music.

Then locals turned Hawaiian transplants Jason Noon and the Lights out Project took the stage...the crowd settled in and everyone got into the vibe while Jason and the Project took the audience on a musical journey into the Surf Roots culture....Hawaiian style.  It was right around 10 when Sashamon took the stage and the crowd was definitely into it, in a big way.  It was cool seeing all these people, hundreds and hundreds of right coasters, kids, even their parents singing along with Sashamon! He kicked it off with his hit Japanese Squeeze and kept the crowd on their feet for over 2 hours. Playing such hits as Necta, Local Girl, and Herbal Criminals.

If you are into Reggae or Roots music...take it from this Dread this was one of the best shows I've seen.  The best part was we felt like we were just hanging out jamming with Sashamon in our own backyard.  He really is an amazing musician and person. My hats off to Rhett and the whole crew at Rusty's for putting on such a great event..as Sashamon would say Mahalo and Aloha until next time.
