Grammy Award winning Julian Marley and the Uprising Band will be coming to the
Beachside Tavern in New Smyrna, Florida on
Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012. Julian “Ju Ju Royal” Marley is a devout Rastafarian who is the only son of Bob Marley’s to be born and raised in the United Kingdom. Having visited Jamaica many times to visit his family, Julian moved there at the age of eighteen. Collaborating with his other musically talented family members releasing albums, Julian also assisted in the opening of the production company Ghetto Youth International with his brothers Ziggy and Stephen which is a foundation to help disadvantaged and minority youths all over the world. Since 1996, Julian has produced three albums and was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2009 for his release of “Awake.” Julian has a unique blend of Reggae incorporating R&B, Hip-Hop, Dancehall and Roots. The bass player in the Uprising Band is the son of The Wailer’s famous bass player Aston “Family Man” Barrett, Aston Barrett, Jr. There are only 300 tickets for this very intimate show and are available at the venue only. Don’t miss this historic event by one of Reggae’s most prolific musicians.
