buying a used shortboard (loss of preformance) Help!

I'm looking at buying a cheap used shortboard. Its an epoxy board with no major damage or dings just has heaps of compression on top.

What i'm wondering is whether its worth buying. Do shortboards really lose there pop and performance after a few months surfing or will it still surf fine?

How much of a loss of performance is there from an older shortboard.

I'm transitioning down from a 6 6' fish.

RE:buying a used shortboard (loss of preformance) Help!

Waves and a good board are the two main components of surfing. The waves are the work of nature itself. And the surfboard is designed to conquer them, to challenge the powerful elements of the ocean and merge with it into one. Today, surfing is the most popular and fashionable sport in the world. It doesn't matter if surfing is a lifestyle or just a hobby for you. To get the thrill of riding the waves, you first need to find your perfect board.I took a large board in glidesup on the advice of friends and were completely happy with the board and their hobby!
