Surfing all year in Cocoa Beach?

Hi.  I'll be moving close to Cocoa Beach soon and hope to surf regularly.  A friend that is from FL claims there's only surf there 2 times year when there's a storm.  I see a lot of info in my research to suggest otherwise.  Can someone tell me the truth on this?

Thank you!

Andrew

RE:Surfing all year in Cocoa Beach?

Fall can be hit or miss.  It's the transition between the summer flat months and wind swell winter months.  You can also see tropical activity all the way into November so there is also the chance of a swell from a depression or hurricane.  Cocoa Beach is pretty consistent as long as there is some kind of swell in the water so depending on how long you are planning to visit you should have a good chance to catch some waves.

I do. Just need a wetsuit for the cooler months.
