Offshore Fishing & Cosatal Waters Fishing Report
Sebastian Inlet Area Fishing Reports
Cape Canaveral
(11/30) A good number of reds have been cruising the flats recently, though I would look for that to change with much cooler weather moving in. Try soaking chunked ladyfish or mullet on the bottom in some of the deeper holes. Schools of jacks have moved in though the fish are on the small size. Structure fishing remains good for mangrove snapper and sheepshead.

(11/21) Cape Canaveral Offshore report Hello- I wish I could say how awesome it is out there.....Truth be told, Its not. This is the time of year when the weather isnt so great. For the few days the weather has cooperated we did get lucky with some tripple tail on some weed patches that were just north of the bouy line. We also pulled a few off the bouys. King fishing has not taken off yet. there have been a few fish on the common reefs. When we get a day or two of light winds, take advantage of it. Water temp is down right now so look for some rays and hopefully get lucky with some cobia on them. I'm going out this wednesday hopefully and will let you know how it goes.

(11/20) Schools of bluefish have been spotted just south of Kelly park, find the bait and birds and you'll find the fish. Sheephead fishing continues to improve around the locks, with cooler water come the bigger fish. Speckled trout fishing remains good while the redfish bite is spotty at best. Trout season remains closed in the south part of the state but is open here until February.

(11/15) The key this weekend will be to stay out of the wind. The barge canal will provide protection from the northwest breeze with fresh cut mullet or pinfish the choice bait for reds. Fish the chunks right on the bottom and be patient, the cooler water has slowed the bite some. The south side of the lock has produced some bluefish and jacks this week, both species taken with shrimp. Remember, trout season is closed until Jan.1st.

(11/09) Looks like some tough fishing conditions with a strong east wind predicted to blow for the next few days. Best areas will be the lee side of the spoil islands and the east shore of the river. Live finger mullet will work best at first light for big trout and reds. Structure fishing remains good for sheephead and mangrove snapper, both eager to take in a live fiddler crab.

(11/04) WINDY WINDY WINDY. This is not making it any easier out there. I went out 2 days ago and it wasn't too bad. It was definately building as the afternoon went on. I headed south and found a lot of pogies near the steeple. One throw of the net and I was loaded up. Never saw anything but small sharks on them. No tarpon or anything else busting on them. I headed out towards bouy 4 and trolled around fror a little bit with no luck. That was it. Short day. The water was very dirty and is getting worse. Its supposed to be 15-20 mph winds for the next week. Going to be a good week to catch up on some maintenance.

(11/01) My trailer is finally fixed and I'll be out tomorrow. my friends have been doing ok on the days the weather let them get out. Kings have been doing pretty good pulling dead bait. Tarpon also have been out there down the beach on pogies. haven't heard of much lately. Charters have been really slow. ill post after tomorrows trip.

(10/31) Water temperature is back to normal but water clarity is poor making for tough fishing conditions. Now may be the time to try your luck for a huge black drum under one of the bridges. Make sure to use at least 100lb test with 150lb leader or you'll never get them up. The flats and drop offs are still holding trout, first light is best. Look to the shoreline, under the mangroves, for patrolling reds. Ladyfish and jacks chasing bait south of the SR520 bridge were reported by one angler saying "they were everywhere".

(10/24) The water temp has dropped 10 degrees since last Friday and the redfish are on the move. Expect the bite to continue. Look for sheepshead to move in around structure, eager to take a properly presented fiddler crab. Don't forget the equation "Big bridge + blue crab = black drum". Also, locate drop offs from 1-5 feet, and you'll find the trout. Top water plugs will work best at first light for the big boys, then switch over to live bait as the sun comes up.
