Lost in Central America

Blog written by Ricky Hitchcock

Starting in the last week of May a friend and myself will be traveling throughout all of Central America for the next three months. During our adventures we will be posting photo's of surf, nature, culture, and whatever else we find along the way. Also, we will be sharing stories from our thoughts and daily experiences throughout the trip. Check us out as we get deeper in the drift!

New Swell, Empty Line Up!

The past four days have been the best since we arrived, Friday being the biggest and best. Its crazy to look in the line up and see thirty guys out in the water. I remember last year the most that were out was like 12 people...its getting crowded!! The crew consisted of a bunch of guys from back home too, kyle garson, eric oed, mark dawson and few more but it was nuts out there. Luckily there are plenty of waves to go around and everyone got their fare share. Check out the shots at Nicaraguasurftour.com, they should be up soon. As the swell started to winde down in the last two days the boys decided to split. I on the other hand am staying, there is a new swell filling and everyone is leaving. Finally we will be able to get this spot as I remember it, spitting barrels and not a sole in sight. The forecast looks to be 4.5 ft at 18 sec. on Thursday and building into the weekend. Ill post photos as soon as I get some!

Also there is a Venezulan photographer here named Susu. He got some great shots and will be posting them shortly. Susu is the man if you want good shots down in Central America. He travels throughout all of South and Central America and takes shots everywhere he goes. Check out his website SUSURFING.com!
