ESA, UNDER WAY!!!

ESA Contest #1 The Inlet New Smyrna Beach

Well the contest season is underway and while the waves were nothing like they were a couple of weeks ago it was certainly rideable. Although the conditions definitely favored the groms, there were plenty of great rides that made the most of the less than perfect waves. Check the photo gallery.

I would've busted out the longboard, but these guys were spraying buckets, busting airs and nailing some nice floaters on their short boards. You could tell everyone was bit rusty at the beginning (just like I am right now writing this), but once they shook the rust off the heats were fun to watch and the competition was pretty stiff.

Jay Smith, shaper of Clever Surfboards, had some solid waves and had a tent up with some of his new boards that looked sweet.

Anyway, I'll catch you after the next contest with my "A" game and an earlier post.

Peace.
