We need all hands on deck today to CALL your Senators THIS MORNING!!! Word has it on the street is that the Senate could take up the House bill on the Floor in messages and pass it out. A Budget meeting has been scheduled 1:15 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2011, Pat Thomas Committee Room, 412 Knott Building, but I did not see SB 796 on the agenda!
If SB 796 passed this will undo our efforts to put this in place 2 years ago.
Rep. Trujillo/HB 613 and Sen. Diaz de la Portilla/SB 796 To delay by five years a requirement that utilities meet advanced treatment requirements for their discharges by 2018. The bills also exempt up to 10 percent of wastewater from the requirement and delay a deadline for nitrogen and phosphorus reductions from 2025 to 2030.
