SurfinSteve says Dania Pier is getting better all the time!

What's up guys it's surfun' Steve here, Dania Beach local and Dania Pier surf enthusiast!

Just wanna let you all know Dania Pier is now streaming a 24 hour broadcast webcam that does a 360 degree view of the beach, letting you know if the waves are good or if you should hit another spot! Our sandbar is currently building up waist to chest high waves, with a big swell pushing through this Friday and Saturday. Last time we had a big swell (the noreaster for easter) we saw 6-8 foot swells with offshore to sandbar breaks and steady rides with chances for a tube ride. On days with waist high sandbar breaks, you can get a good (but short) ride on a longboard or paddleboard. The beach is still pretty empty on weekdays, but the crowds are big on the weekend so get there early or risk losing a parking space. Meters went up to 2$ an hour, getting locals together to try to get that down since it used to be 1.25$ an hour. Note that the Quaterdeck on the pier is very popular and the crowd it draws is mostly tourists, but this can be fun as it gives you an audience on those good days. Hope this thread gives a little more credit to Dania Pier surf, and hope to see you all out there shredding it up Friday and Saturday!!

Update*

went surfing today from 4pm til about 7pm, waist high short lived waves on sandbar, but some nice offshore waves between chest high to overhead, decent rides. There is a channel about 200 feet off the pier to paddle out, and the undertow will pull you north right into the surf. Fun times, supposed to be decent again tomorrow. Note- the chop is pretty gnarly but if you catch a wave it's worth it
