Brrr-loha NCFLers!

Hopefully this is the end of the cold weather. My thin-blooded-Floridian self is just about over winter and ready for warmer days!!! We are happy to announce that BARRELICIOUS and CHILLY SURFBOARDS have stepped-up to sponsor NCFL contest #1@ Granada Approach, Ormond Beach, March 16, 2013. It looks like it's going to be a great "Beach Day", so bring the family, bring the friends, and bring competitors (old & new). Online registration is still "OPEN" on our esancfl.org website, so enter now to avoid Beach Entry hassles. If heats fill-up and you haven't entered yet...

well, you can't blame us now can ya? We simply can't add another person to a 6 man heat and/or make 2 heats of 3 or 4 surfers, it's just too time consuming. We will set-up as soon as we can get on the beach (8am) and would like to get the 1st heat in the water ASAP. Once again we will be looking for qualified volunteers to judge heats, if you are "recruited" don't act as if your too busy to give back. At some point we will take a break and crown our 2012 season Champions, I believe that our "Surfing Chef", Stan, will be grilling up some Burgers & Dogs......

you will need to come to the Administration Tent to obtain a ticket for food and drinks. We also have some cool stuff to raffle off, Chilly Surfboards is raffling a custom-shaped-surfboard and a "free" day @ the 2013 Chilly Summer Surf Camp, Aloha Plumbing Inc. is raffling a hand-carved Tiki statue, we have Jimmy Lewis hats, t-shirts, rash-guards, and other "goodies", so bring some cash to get a raffle ticket(s).

We are trying to come up with some creative ideas to benefit our NCFL TEAM when it comes time to go to the Eastern Championships in September. We have been "pounding the pavement" trying to get some sponsorship for our district. Regretfully, the message I'm getting is that there is "no 'return' in it" for the surf shops and surf companies. That's too bad, when I was a menehune in the ESA the shops and companies were frothing to get in on the action. That will not stop us, we are in this to show-case our local talent, we want our NCFLers to show up at the U.S. Championships and declare "Right Coasters Rip"!

Now that we have re-aligned with Surfing America we are one step closer. Think of the talent NCFL has produced, from Scott Brill to Noah Shwiezer, and all the surfers in-between. That my friends is AWESOME, and we will do our best to carry on that tradition. We will have strength in numbers so be sure to get anyone you know involved with the NCFL, either for fun and friendships and/or some real competition experience. Tell them, "join the best"! That being said- see ya'll @ the beach Saturday morning!!!!
