New Smyrna Beach Surf Information
New Smyrna Beach's inlet is one of the most consistent surf spots in all of Florida. When most everywhere else is flat, there is usually a rideable wave at "the inlet".
While it is best on north swells, it can be equally as good with a straight east swell and wind direction. A hundred yards or more away from the rocks at the inet can also be fun on south swells. If it is a sizeable south swell, then you may want to head to the other side of NSB Inlet to Ponce Inlet in southernmost Daytona Beach, which is one of the best spots there is a solid south swell.
During the summer time I must warn you though, it does get extremely crowded with not only surfers of all skill levels, but also with tourists on boogie boards. If you surf here in the summer time
PLEASE be respectful of others in the water but beware of some of the more territorial locals
that have paid their dues and have been here for decades.
