Florida Women Of The Waves Exhibt Cocoa Beach Surf Museum

New Cocoa Beach Surf Museum Exhibt

So, Saturday evening from 7 to 10pm The Cocoa Beach Surf Museum held a food and fun get together to showcase their newest exhibit. "FLORIDA WOMEN OF THE WAVES" The Surf Museum is located just north of the main Ron Jon building in Cocoa Beach, at 4275 N Atlantic Ave, in the Ron Jon Water Sports building. This collection of photos, literature and video chronicled women’s surfing then and now and their contribution to the sport of surfing and surf culture.

It was literally standing room only. While guests snacked on a buffet of yummy finger foods, they enjoyed the sounds of Honey Miller's music filling the venue. There was an air of nostalgia and excitement as up and comers along side World Champions shared their experiences and accomplishments with the public and one another.

From the1960’s to current competitors, important figures in women surfing were on hand to see there own and pay respect to the accomplishments of others.

Good food, great music, beautiful women, and a bit of history . . .
I love my job! Check out the pics...

This exhibit was originally concieved as a simple display of photographs, but due to the enthusiastic response from the Lady Surfers it has grown to include a friday night surf movie (female themed of course), a Saturday morning Ladies Surfing Social, and the Saturday night Exhibit Opening.
