Filmer Ryan Moss spent the Southern Hemisphere winter at Teahupo'o, Tahiti, capturing Matahi Drollet, Kalani David and other pros in some of the most perfect conditions we've seen in a long time. You might have tuned in to the World Tour event this past week and found beautiful, mostly blue images of Teahupo'o, Tahiti, beaming back. The waves were clear as crystal, fun as a bed full of feathers. Which was exactly why Matahi Drollet, Tereva David, and the rest of the Teahupo'o diehards were laying low: they'd already gotten their fill of the real, much bigger stuff. At the notorious French Polynesian left-hander, it has been a winter season of often flawless conditions. And, lucky for us, consummate journeyman, Ryan Moss, decided to spend the whole season at the "End of the Road" – as the village of Teahupo'o is called – capturing the very best days and most fearless surfers as they threw themselves over the ledge and into one roaring barrel after another. From boat, drone, tow and paddle, Moss captured Drollet and David, along with Enrique Ariitu, Kalani David, Dege O’Connell, and an uber talented squad of other Tehaupo'o regulars at their best. So as we prepare to say goodbye to summer up in the Northern Hemisphere, we might as well say goodbye to the Southern Hemisphere's most brilliant winter locale. Enjoy!
