The Tropics are heating up
Story/Photos By BR Surfguru
After a somewhat unmemorable summer, the Tropics are starting to heat up sending us not one, but 3 early season storms.
The first, Fiona, will begin to send us surf as early as Wednesday the 24th. Fiona has been staying well out in the Atlantic and should be dissipating in the next few days. Expect a choppy wind swell with a short period for early waves but they may clean up toward the end of the week.
99L has taken a more direct course and though it’s not expected to be very powerful it might drop a fair amount of rain on Florida later in the week.
Lastly, the newly named, Gaston, is taking a favorable path into the Atlantic that may allow it to build into a category 1 hurricane and give us those perfect long period waves we are looking for.
