Hurricane Laura has strengthened quickly and will start to make landfall tonight prompting hurricane warnings from San Luis Pass, Texas to Morgan City, Louisiana.  Fueled by the warm waters of the gulf a currently producing 115 MPH winds, officials warn that the storm could be a strong Cat 3 to a possible Cat 4 when it reaches the coast.

The highest storm surge is expected to east of the center of the Laura.  Storm surge could make its way up to 30 miles inland in low lying areas of Louisiana prompting many to prepare for a major flooding event and some to evacuate.

The effects of this storm will likely be felt as far north as Sothern Ohio in the form of heavy rain by Saturday.
