Surf Forecast:
East Coast: Surf Forecast:
East Coast: Knee to thigh high with lucky bigger sets from the east at 7 sec with light morning south winds building for the end of the day. This may give us just a touch of extra size for the afternoons/evenings.
Southern East Coast: Onshore winds start to pick up on Saturday bring the local wind swell back into the knee to lucky bigger sets range for later on Saturday and into Sunday.
Gulfsters: Winds t
urn onshore and build south of Tampa Bay as the weekend goes on. We could see knee with lucky bigger sets of short period wind swell for Sunday south of Tampa Bay. Closer to the big bend should see smaller conditions and offshore winds.
Panhandle: Small to flat with light winds.
Weather:
We will be partly cloudy to cloudy on the East Coast with highs in the 80’s with a chance for isolated storms and a higher chance of storms in the afternoons.
South Florida will see mid 80’s with a chance for scattered storms on Saturday with a lower chance of storms on Sunday.
Gulfsters are also in the high 80’s with scattered storms on Saturday and a lower chance on Sunday with the highest chance between 10 am and 1 pm.
The Panhandle will be a little warmer, in the high 80’s to 90, and partly cloudy to sunny on Saturday and have a slight chance for rain on Sunday,
Check out accuweather.com for the latest.
Beaches:
It’s a Holiday weekend so expect holiday weekend crowds. Also if you are staying later into the afternoon on Saturday be away some places are having special events like the 100th Anniversary in Cocoa Beach. They are putting on a Drone Show so expect a decent size crowd for later in the day along with the extra traffic. If you are coming for the show, aim for that afternoon sweet spot when people leave the beach for your best shot at finding good parking.
The beaches look clean for the most part with not a lot of seaweed. Keep an eye on that weather especially on the East Coast and stay aware of possible lighting. With the smaller surf, beach fishing is looking good. Just remember to move away from popular swimming areas before casting out. Be sure to pack lots of water and the sunscreen because we are in the extreme summer UV days.
Have a great Independence Day weekend!!!
