Tropical depression Seven is out in the Atlantic and is currently a trough of low pressure with winds toping out at around 37 mph as of 11 am on Wednesday 9/17. The previous potential Gabrielle took a turn to the south and fizzled out before making it to a named storm following the prediction of the Euro model. For this storm, the models are in agreement that we will see a named storm and soon.

It looks like the depression will form into Tropical storm Gabrielle later today (9/17) while heading NE and may gain Hurricane strength sometime over Sunday or early Monday. Models are keeping it pretty far out and hooking up towards Bermuda so there isn’t much of a chance of an impact on the US outside of some beach errosion. There is another wave right behind Seven but unless it take a radically different path it doesn’t look like much will come of it.

While we should see a storm swell from Gabrielle it won't be as Epic as what we saw from Erin due to it's farther distance and lesser forecast strength. But we should have clean winds and decent size so this should still be a fun swell.
