Florida Surf Report/Forecast For Jan 17th 2025

Atlantic Surf Report

Friday:
Small to flat with gentle NW winds that turn more NE by the afternoon.

Weekend:  Small with offshore winds for Saturday.  Winds turn NW and build into the high teens for Sunday but surf stays on the small side.

Looking ahead:   Not much for Monday other than cold weather.  Winds turn onshore for Tuesday ahead of an area of low pressure that could kick up some pretty nasty weather for late Tuesday and into the start of Wednesday.  Strong north winds are forecast for Wednesday making for some big but chunky storm surf.  Thursday and Friday will be worth keeping an eye on depending on when the winds break for some decent leftovers.

Gulf Coast Surf report and Forecast

Friday:

Gulfsters:  Small to flat
Panhandle:  Small to flat

Weekend:

Gulfsters:  Staying small to flat for Saturday.  Winds shift NW and kick up to the low 20s as the day goes on for Sunday and we start to see local wind swell build by the afternoon.

Panhandle: Saturday we have small scale SSW 6 sec winds well with WSW winds in the low teens.  Winds shift to the NNW for a few smaller AM leftovers on Sunday.

Looking ahead:

Gulfsters: Look for some 7 sec west leftovers in the water on Monday as winds shift to the north and then NE but get on them while you can as they will probably fade quickly.  Tuesday looks like another smaller day with NE winds in the low teens.

We have an area of low pressure passing over on Wednesday which will bring strong north winds turning NE by the afternoon but not doing much for ridable surf.  We stay small with offshore winds for Thursday.

Panhandle: Not too much surf potential through the mid-week.  Winds turn onshore for Thursday which could bring us a little surf for Thursday afternoon but winds kick offshore and build for Friday which will kill any leftovers pretty quickly.
