Florida Surf Report/Forecast Feb 10th 2025

Florida Atlantic Surf Report/Forecast

Monday:  Knee to lucky thigh in the better spots from the east at 9 sec.  Winds are light from the SE.  Size drops as you head south and will be shin to lucky knee or so for central FL.  Gentle offshore morning winds give way to brisk NE winds by the end of the day as a front starts to pass over.

Tuesday:  Knee lucky thigh high to start the day at 8-9 sec from the east with an added wind swell component as the day goes on.  Winds start the day gentle from the NNE and clock around the S/SE and build into the low teens by the end of the day

Looking ahead:   We should be in the thigh zone for Wednesday with a NE swell at 7 sec on top of the 9sec east swell but S/SE winds in the mid teens will add some chop so look for those south protected spots. We have similar but possibly a little smaller conditions for Thursday.  For Friday we have another front with strong NE winds filling in from the north kicking up some good sized but chunky wind swell by the end of the day for North and Central Florida.  Winds are forecast to turn S/SE on Saturday with good size at 9 sec and should be decent in south protected spots.  We have a possible fun leftovers day on Sunday so stay tuned.

South Florida Surf report and Forecast

 Monday:  Small to flat.

Tuesday:  SE winds pick up kicking up some knee high local wind swell.

Looking ahead:  SE winds and 6 sec wind swell continues on Wednesday.  Winds back off and surf drops off for Thursday and Friday.  We could see a little NE swell sneak past the islands on Saturday as the day goes on but SE winds in the mid teens will hurt quality.  Winds turn to the south and then possibly offshore for the afternoon on Sunday for some leftovers.

Gulf Coast Surf report and Forecast

Monday:

Gulfsters:  Flat

Panhandle:  Small to Flat

Tuesday:

Gulfsters:  Flat

Panhandle: Winds turn onshore and build to the teens for some knee to thigh short period wind swell by the end of the day.
Looking ahead:

Gulfsters:  Winds turn to the south and make for the possibility of some small scale south wind swell for Wednesday and Thursday.  Then we are back to small to flat for Friday and Saturday.   We have a front coming through on Sunday which will probably mean some decent sized but chunky wind swell with the possibility of some short lived cleaner leftovers after the wind switch on Monday.

Panhandle: Winds build from the south for continued chunky wind swell on Wednesday.  Be ready for a wind switch on Thursday for some 7 sec cleaner leftovers.

Friday morning may have a few leftovers before winds turn to the east and build wiping the leftovers out.  We have another round of strong SE winds and wind swell on Saturday with winds building as the day goes on and going NW for Sunday early AM.

You may see some short lived hollow leftover waves Sunday morning depending on when the wind switch happens exactly but the strong winds could counter the swell’s energy pretty quickly so be ready first thing.

I’ll keep an eye on it and give you a better timetable as soon as I can because the models are in a bit of disagreement on exact event times right now.
After that we are small for the start of next week with a pretty strong front predicted for the mid week which could set up next Thursday as a day to watch so stay tuned.
