Tropics and Hurricane Forecast
A tropical wave near the Lesser Antilles, known as Potential Tropical Cyclone Five, is expected to develop soon into Tropical Storm Ernesto. The current forecast shows it tracking west towards the Leeward and Virgin Islands, with models predicting it will then swing north into the Atlantic, staying off Florida’s east coast. This storm could potentially reach Category 1-2 status.
The swell potential from this storm looks promising. Its path should take it through the “Goldilocks zone,” where it will be far enough away to avoid overly strong winds and rain, but close enough to generate well-formed, sizable swells. At its peak, we could see chest to overhead sets if it maintains its current trajectory. If it moves a bit further out, we can still expect fun waist to chest-high waves for the weekend

Have a great one and stay safe! - Bryan
