Kapn Bone Food Review Penny Hill Beach Emporium

Hey it’s your good old Kapn’ Bone here with this week’s insider food review. Buddha and I decided to head down south to Wabasso Beach. Formally a surf shop but now thanks to the efforts of Mickey and Ray Brubaker we found the Penny Hill Beach Emporium. By far not your typical sub shop, with just about everything that you need to enhance your beach going experience. Penny Hill is the one stop shop you need to make. From your favorite beer or wine to all of your surf needs including wax ,baggies and a vast assortment of sun care products Penny Hill eliminates the competition by providing all of these things and the best Subs, Salads and Gyros under one roof.

Ray set up the Kapn’ with a great assortment of fresh subs. The first was the Vegetarian, a tasty  heart healthy combination of vegetables and cheeses topped with alfalfa sprouts and medium hot peppers, it’s no wonder why it’s their top seller. Biting into this little beauty was an explosion of taste crunchy and light complemented by the home baked wheat roll.

Ray did not stop there up next was the Classic Italian. Let me tell you from one Classic Italian to another this was the real deal. Ham, Salami, capicola and provolone cheese, just terrific.
Next on the list was turkey & bacon & provolone cheese. All the good food groups here and of course plenty of bacon! Mommy.

Not showing any signs of fatigue Ray whipped up another house favorite, the Chuck Wagon a grilled chicken not mystery chicken but a big fat breast  sliced up and grilled with bacon melted provolone and ranch dressing, bam! What a unique treat. Now to watch Ray work is amazing he is  like a Vegas card dealer his fingers never leave his hands! Penny Hill style is to roll the sub so that nothing falls out.

About to explode I had to try my all time favorite sandwich the Muffuletta. A staple in New Orleans  the Muffuletta is worth the drive. Right down to the olive salad on top this was authentic.
Ray’s lovely wife explained that all of the subs could be made into salads if you did not want the roll, now we know why we love Jersey girls. And helping out the Brubakers on the line is the lovely Bay Bay and Sierra.
So when you need a fantastic sub and some sun screen and you ripped that favorite pair of baggies check out the Penny Hill Beach Emporium and when you do tell them Kapn’ Bone sent you.
