Suprise Red

Went fishin for a few Bluefish to put on the smoker today.Was fishing with my 8lb test rig when it hit with a big boil at my jig.After about a 15min or so fight that took me from the end of the south jetty to inside the inlet half way to the bridge.The big Red finally gave in a & with a little help from fishin bro Cody who helped me land & netted the Red for me. After a quick photo by Bill his dad the red was released and happy to be back in the inlet.

nice fish. nice to know someone else eats bluefish. i make a bluefish salad with pickles for kids. i grill them and put them on toast for me.

We put some chipolte barbque sauce on them & put them in the smoker for about 2 hours. Take the leftovers and make smoked fish dip.

took pole to work today. took lunch under the bridge at wibasso. caught a 18in red on silver spoon. put him back. bringing cooler next time.
