Coquina rocks

I have a grom that wants to try surfing and the last beach I went to on the east coast, Satellite beach, had those Coquina rocks. I'm staying in that area this weekend. Do all the beaches have these Coquina rocks? And does anyone know if the rocks are there naturally or did people dump the rocks there for beach protection or whatever reason? Any beach recommendations would be appreciated!

RE:Coquina rocks

Anywhere north of Satellite Beach or South of Indian Harbour beach should be fine.  Avoid Canova Beach or Mellinium Park.   Paradise Beach in Indialantic is south a few miles with plenty of parking or head north to Cocoa Beach.  The rocks are natural. I believe they are the left overs from the reef that existed before the sand but up to make the barrier islands.
