Zushi Asia Indialantic Sushi Bar Review

Kapn Bone Food Review

Zushi Asia

Hey all of you scalawags out there it's time for a Food Review from your good old Kapn' Bone.

After 18 holes at Turtle Creek golf course up in Rockledge, it's tighter than your boss at raise time, Buddha and I met up at "Zushi Asia" on Fifth avenue. This will be the first edition in a series of honest restaurant reviews. We will give you the low down on where to eat in this little slice of paradise that we call home. Webster define Sushi as "a Japanese dish consisting of small cakes of cold rice with a topping of raw fish" But as we know it's far more artistic and complicated than that! Buddha had us all prepared with a list of several items to be graded at a typical Sushi bar.Our rating scale was 1 to 5.

We first want to complement our waitress Jackie for putting up with us and keeping the cold beer and sake coming. The size of the sake was a little disappointing, five small cups per bottle at 3.95 each and the beer was also 3.95 for 12 ounces.

Our first wasTuna Nigiri. The Tuna was not the Toro the rich red belly of the fish that we are accustomed to but Akami, its the leaner meat from the sides of the fish, its pink. I give it a 2.5 . The next dish we were served was the Salmon Skin hand roll. A pretty nice size hand roll with a great crunch, we have to give it a 3.5. Our next choice was a specialty roll called the Indialantic roll, truly the best thing that we enjoyed this evening. A solid 5! To finish off our meal we enjoyed Spicy Octopus baskets. At first there was a little confusion with the baskets, they were topped with Quail egg not a favorite of Buddha but I was on them like a seagull! Buddha was then given his order with out the eggs. I give my special spicy octopus basket a 3.5. We also tried a flavorful soup called Kai Guy from the Thai side of the menu, I will go back to Zushi just to give that side of the menu a try! The owner sent over a beautiful dessert at the end of our meal a fried banana stuff dumpling with a wonderful sauce to dip in.

Over all we rate Zushi Asia a 3

Freshness and presentation 4

Size of serving and cost 3

Cleanliness of restaurant and bathrooms 4

Beer and sake prices 2

You know why you drink sake at a Sushi Bar? To prepare for the check!

At the end there was some confusion with the check and the overall service was pretty slow, we would like to see Zushi Asia get over the bumps that all restaurants have in the beginning and look forward to coming back to see those improvements. See you next time Kapn' Bone out!
