Kapn Bone Food Review

Lobster Lasagna, Pistachio Saku Tuna and Pumpkin Crusted Grouper. I’m going to let you know where to get these dishes , It’s your good Old Kapn. Bone here with this week's gourmet food review.

Tonight we take a little ride to Indian Harbor Beach to visit our friend and terrific Chef, Prentice. Having been a fixture in several of Brevard’s finer dinning spots for years Prentice decided to jump into Tonic with both feet.

Revamping the menu with an array of wonderful delicacies I think that he has accomplished this extremely hard task. We were greeted at the bar by the lovely Karen and were quickly brought up to speed on the menu by Chef Prentice. Tonight at Tonic they featured “Burger Booze Days” were they offer a Sirloin Burger for just 4 bucks! That was not a typo, in these fickle and economic times it just makes good sense to take advantage  of such a great deal.

Where else can you get a hand made Sirloin Burger with caramelized onions, manchego cheese and apple wood bacon. And don’t forget the dollar off the beer and wine list they also offer. The Burgers also come with ”Tonic Taters” you have to try these.

I was asked to come and make my own Burger by our host, what better way can you get what you want. The sirloin meat was 70/30 which give enough fat to keep it juicy, the next step was adding the Truffle oil to the mix, Chef Prentice did not skimp on this ingredient pouring it all over my meat. Next stop was the char grill.  I like mine medium rare so after it was done we added the other items to finish off our meal. The only thing left was to dig in!

What a fine mesh of tastes in one bite. I checked out the other special nights at Tonic. On Mondays you can be treated to a five course meal and two wine servings for just 20$  per person. And don’t forget Wednesdays when you can get a free bottle of wine with your two entrée’s.

We have been invited back to dive into the regular menu and I look forward to coming back to see  Prentice and sample some more of his fine cuisine.

You know the drill, When your in Indian Harbor Beach and need to impress that special someone, drop in and see Prentice at “Tonic” and tell him Kapn. Bone sent you!
