The Firehouse Restaurant & Lounge Food Review

Historic Downtown Melbourne Florida

Hey Everybody come with me and I’ll show you how Matt put’s the “Fine” in Fine Dining. To night Buddha and I were invited to the Firehouse Restaurant and Lounge in the newly renovated Melbourne Downtown Main Street District. When we arrived and were greeted by Owner and Head Chef Matt Mc Nulty, after perusing the extensive menu I asked Matt to make some suggestions for dinner.

We were treated first to the Firehouse Seared Ahi Tuna. A artistic dish with a crème fraiche wasabi that was not only original but tasty. The Tuna was just right, just a turned on the grill with a rich red center. Matt followed up with another first for us, the Char grilled Caesar. I have enjoyed the traditional Caesar in many restaurants but this was leagues above them all.

They take a nice stalk of romaine lettuce and grill it then plate it with a large amount of fresh crotons (not the little rock hard prepackage ones that all the rest use). With a delicious true Caesar dressing, this was the best I have ever had. The romaine was warm with a nice hint  of charcoal, I can’t wait to go back to have another!

Bringing out our Entrée Matt did not disappoint, a medium rare eight ounce petit filet with one of their signature toppings. At the Firehouse they have several one better than the next accompaniments, ours was the Dynamite, an Asian infused aioli topped with shrimp and scallops. The steak was cooked perfectly in fact I used a butter knife to cut it. Along with the Dynamite topping it was a one of a kind. The shrimp and scallops were cooked spot on, the scallop was the giant ocean type not the small bay variety and with the added shrimp, it tied it all together.

For dessert we sampled the Peanut butter cheese cake a delightful blend of creamy cheese cake adorned with Reese’s peanut butter chips. This was so rich that it can be shared by two.

At the Firehouse they can make you an eight ounce to a ninety-six ounce steak and everything in between. Matt an unbelievable self trained Chef has found the secret to fine dinning, completely the best ingredients, a relaxed environment and great service. Along with something on the menu for everyone’s taste, get ready for the best steak in Brevard county. They even offer a full catering service and banquet facility. Look them up at their web site www.thefirehouserestaurantandlounge.com...

And when you go there don’t forget to tell them Kapt. Bone sent you!
