Hey it's your good Old Kapn' Bone here with this weeks food review. Buddha, BD and I were invited to Matt's Casbah for a real Hawaiian Luau. For those of you who don't get out much, Matt's is a unique and original restaurant and bar in the "New Downtown Melbourne" area. When Matt does something it's always over the top so we were very anxious to get there! We were greeted by a staff and escorted to the large dinning room. Buddha and BD quickly set up all of our gear and before you could say Surfguru we were live on the Internet! We started off with a great big frothy kona brown beer. Kona helped with the refreshments this evening providing a bunch of stuff including the lays!
Our first dish was a paella not your traditional Spanish one. But at Matt's tradition gives way to creativity and with the Hawaiian theme it was loaded with fresh veggies and sliced almonds giving it a nutty flavor that went easily with the kona brown. The next thing was something that every Luau should have roasted pig. The Chefs at Matt's did a tasty rub that kept it juicy with a crunchy skin. Another dish was a Salmon Poke that just got better with every bite. Everything on the luau menu was so tasty! Every bite was a wonderful flavor...
I want to thank Matt and his entire staff for a great evening.
