Island's Fish Grill Indialantic Florida Food Review

Kapn Bone Food Review

All Buddha had to hear was Stuffed Lobster and they had his attention! It’s your good old Kapn. Bone here with this weeks fine dinning review. It was our pleasure to be asked back to our favorite Indialantic restaurant, Island’s Fish Grill. James and owner Karen wanted us to look over the new seasonal menu and we were happy to oblige.

We were seated by the always lovely Allison and proceeded to dive in. The Menu was fantastic with just about every fish imaginable available. All so fresh with so many ways to be prepared we decided that we needed some professional help with our choices this evening. James our host and Manager was happy to take over and order for our table.

We started off with a Seafood Soup Appetizers, I always like to start with soup in any restaurants that I visit because if the soup is good! Nine times out of ten the rest of the meal will also be good. On this cold night the soup de jour was perfect, with a plentiful supply of fish chunks, shrimp and vegetables, this hit the spot. It was amazing when we arrived, there were several tables occupied but then the flood gates opened and the place was packed! As in any business it’s all about the customers, especially in a Seafood restaurant, it almost guarantees freshness.

James picked out the house special dish the Onion Encrusted Grouper, the Filet topped with real crab and the 1 1/2lb. Stuffed Lobster. We were joined by our security chief the Bronze Aussie and proceeded to share our entrée’s. The Onion Encrusted Grouper was delicious flaky and fresh, it just melts in your mouth. James was one for one.

Over to the Filet with Crabmeat, This was a nice variation of Filet Oscar but with out the Béarnaise sauce that usually smothers the taste of everything. In his very unique way that the Chef prepared this was a nice change, you could taste the Filet and the Crab, well done James two for two. Always the best for last The 1½ lb. Stuffed Lobster was simply fantastic. The Chef takes all the Lobster meat out of the shell and adds some shallots and a few secret ingredients and finishes it off in a brandy reduction and puts it all back, a little time under the broiler and voila!

The only thing wrong with this dish is that they put it in front of Buddha! I was still able to reach over and sample this must try dish. Well James thank you for your help and hospitality. We want to also thank Luke our waiter and of course Karen the owner of Island’s Fish Grill right here in Indialantic. Look for a follow up review of the dessert menu. For some great Fish with an Attitude this is the place to go and when you get there tell them Kapn. Bone sent you!
