Hey Scallywags it's your good old Kapn' Bone here with another Food Review. This week we converged on "Hurricane Wings" this one's on Eau Gallie Blvd. For the first
time Buddha and I decided that we had to give the big chain restaurants a call and see what everyone has been talking about, now there are thirty locations in the
Sunshine State to chose from.
Tonight we were joined by some Guru staff, there was Capt. Keno with his 1st mate Kelly in tow and our regular taste tester Brian from BrevardUnderground.com.
We were met at the door by Alex and were asked immediately as we sat what we would like to drink. Behind the bar Kia whipped everything up to order and we
began. The menu is very unique giving you the choice of 5 categories of flavors for your wings Starting at Category 1 Mild Hurricane Sauce to Category 5 Ridiculously
Hot Hurricane Sauce and about thirty flavors to chose from in between. We went with the Crispy wing Appetizer to start. our flavor choices were the house Garlic
Parmesan & Herb Sauce, Mango BBQ, Cajun and a really hot Volcanic Lava Glaze.
The food came out pretty quickly and my cohorts and I dug in! The Garlic Parmesan was tasty and cooked the way we like wings, crispy. We give the Garlic Parmesan a
3.5. Next we went into the Mango BBQ. Again a terrific flavor cooked just right, we give these guys another 3.5. Now we picked up the heat a little and sampled the
Cajun Wings. These bad boys were pre rubbed with a Louisiana blend of spices. Extremely delicious we gave them a 4. Now we come to the sign a release before you
eat section, Category 5. The Volcanic Lava Glaze was not only hot but sticky now this would play well for a first date but you know, it sure works on wings! We give
them a 4.5 They were and everyone agreed the best hot wings we have tried.
Being gluttons for punishment Buddha, Brian and I had to try the Category 5 Ridiculously Hot Hurricane Sauce, Capt. Keno and Lil' Hippie wanted no part in these flaming
little asteroids. With them we also ordered the Garlic and Parmesan fries to put out the impending fire. Yep they were as advertised, hotter that H.... we were glad that
we had the fries! Another 4.5.
Here's another fun, well run restaurant in our area. They have a full menu, one for the kids and desserts that will blow you down. Here's to Hurricane Wings for treating
us like royalty. Go stop by and tell them Kapn' Bone sent ya. Next week we are in for a special treat so don't forget to visit, Kapn' Bone out .
