Surf Guitar Legend Dick Dale Live in Concert

Thursday June 16th the legendary King of Surf Guitar Dick Dale graced and rocked us with his presense at Drake's Boathouse Restaurant and music venue! Located in Winter Park Florida, the Boathouse was an amazing place! To be able to experience the musical talent so up close and personal! The Boathouse's inside/outside setup, friendly staff and great drinks made the show all the more satisfying. The Legend himself was just recently inducted to the Surfing Walk of Fame in Huntington Beach, California. Dale gave us a performance we would not forget.
Being held in a smaller venue the excitement and anticipation of the crowd was amazing to spectate as we waited for Dale's performance. The opening act for Dale was an amazingly talented band dubbed The Laramie Dean Band which consist of 4 members one of being Dale's own son 19 year old Jimmy Dale on drums. Jimmy Dale also played the drums for his father's wonderful performance. The musical talent runs deep in this family for sure!
When the 74 year old legend made his way to the stage the energy in the room amplified followed by the sound of his trademark use of guitar reverb and staccato picking, this genius icon rocked the house and left us hypnotized. With every chord rocking and rolling you could literally feel why this guy is known for his influence in surfing music. Drake's VIP lounge was full of surfer's and music lover's alike! This show was definetly one for the books! Don't miss this legend if you get a chance...
