Port Canaveral Summer Fishing Report fro July

Chris Cameron Fired Up Charters

Just a mid month quick report for Cape Canaveral.
Pogies have been pretty easy to catch lately. They have been in the back basins in the deeper water and also out front along the beach. Look for the flips and watch your machine.

Nearshore beach fishing has been decent. Jacks, bonita, tarpon and a few kings have been around. Just troll your live pogies. Use mono 80lb leaders with circle hooks. if you start to get cut off then use stinger rigs.

The reefs have been decent as well. not as good as they should be but decent. The bite has been in the early morning time frame and live bait has been the best bet.  Kings, bonita and a few cobia have been caught.
last few trips we had a few sails and mahi in the mix.

Bottom fishing has been pretty good. all the wrecks and 21 and 27 have been good lately.

Mahi fishing has slowed down a lot but I heard the depth was 140-180 and the larger fish were around 500 feet.

Good luck and stay safe...
