How would you like to get a buzz without the bee---rs? And of course without the DUI and harmful effects to your body? Enter the Islands of Kava in Downtown Melbourne off 192 OR West Eau Gallie off N. Wickham Rd. Island Root Kava is a new wave of relaxation that washes away anxiety, insomnia and stress with a simple shell of Kava. Kava is a root from the Kava plant, which serves as an aphrodisiac and sedative, that brings a smile to your face no matter how your day has treated you. This root has been a cultural tradition of the people from the South Pacific Islands for 3,000 years. It's popularity has grown in the past few years, so now you don't have to travel across the world to experience this amazing drink. The actual root is imported to Island Root Kava from Islands such as Fiji and other tropical destinations in the South Pacific.
Right around the corner in Downtown Melbourne you can step foot into a different world. There is outdoor seating that hosts a drum circle and bonfire every Thursday night around 10pm, as well as on the Full Moon. Inside you will feel as though you are in a bamboo forest that is equipped with couches, board games, reading material and a GIANT Size Jenga! The location off Wickham Rd. has ping pong and pool as well. Island Root Kava is child AND pet-friendly and has a few different rooms that are all interconnected. It comes equipped with big screen televisions usually tuned in to surfing, but you can watch movies of your choice, sports, or whatever suits your fancy. There are computers on the bar that offer FREE WI-FI and there is always some type of music playing in the background. An "old school" arcade game awaits you when your brain needs a break. And of course you can always count on having an interesting and intriguing conversation without losing your mental clarity...unlike when drinking alcohol.
Island Root Kava offers more then just plain or flavored Kava Tea by the way. They serve a small menu of food, E-Cigs full of flavors to try, and best of all an Organic Oxygen Bar. The oxygen comes mixed with the essential oils of Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Lavendar or Lemongrass. Tuesdays offer 2-4-1 Kava shells. Wednesdays are Ladies night with $1 shells for the lovely ladies! Gotta love being female ;) Fridays they have House DJ Beau spinning Vinyl and doing his thing. Even if you do prefer the alcohol/bar scene...Island Root Kava stays open until 4 or sometimes 5am! Swing by after the bars close, after a long day at work, or anytime after 12pm to experience and enjoy the amazing herbal heaven of Kava...
