Fired Up Charter's September Central Florida Fishing Report

Fired Up Charter's September Central Florida Fishing Report

What can we expect for this September? Beach fishing should definitely pick up. It has been pretty good so far but should only get better. The kings are moving into the beach and feeding on the large schools of bait, (pogies). You can start in the 20 foot range. Tarpon are mixed in and showing up even more in huge schools. Some are in the 150/200 lb class. Big sharks, Jacks and bonita are also in the mix. Bait has been very thick on the beach. Catch your bait then put your lines in and start from there. The bouy line is usually a sure thing this time of year. Start at the ones closest to the port and work your way out depending on the water clarity. If the water is very dirty move a little farther out. The bouy line is good because a lot of bait fish are in that deep channel and attract the larger fish. Keep an eye on your machine. You want to be marking bait. Move around till you mark it and start there.

Offshore fishing sometimes slows down this time of year BUT with this odd season we are having so far who knows what’s going to happen? Mahi should start to show up a little better now and by the end of the month. The Cobia still haven’t made there normal July/August run so hopefully we see them this month as well. We are seeing a few every trip and catching them at random on king gear.

The mullet run will start this month too. Look for huge schools and fish around them too.

If you need any help please don’t hesitate to call us. If you have some pictures to share send them to firedupcharters@gmail.com. Have a great September from your premier fishing guide charter of Cocoa Beach, Port Canaveral, Orlando, Disney Florida area. Good luck this month and we hope you do well
