Saltwater Cowgirls 16th Annual Sisters of the Sea Surf Classic

Local surf darlings, Sisters of the Sea, announce the Saltwater Cowgirls 16th Annual Sisters of the Sea Surf Classic on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at the south side of the Jacksonville Beach Pier. The all girl surf contest begins at 8:00 AM. Registration is $35 per division pre-registration and $60 per division at the beach. Divisions include novice, advanced Shortboard and Longboard, Stand Up Paddle, and Tandem. Entry forms can be printed at
www.sistersofthesea.org. Only the first 125 entries will surf the contest. Entry deadline is September 5th at noon.
Sisters of the Sea donates all of the proceeds of their event to ‘Bosom Buddies’ at the Women’s Center of Jacksonville. This group provides education to women at high risk for breast cancer and support for women and families who are affected by breast cancer. SOS has donated over $60,000 to ‘Bosom Buddies’ in the past 15 years.
Saltwater Cowgirls Surf Camp is the presenting sponsor of this year’s event and will be present at the beach providing land based instruction for beginners! Since 1999, they have proudly served the community with quality surf instruction. During the contest, there will also be a huge fundraising raffle with items like surfboards, skateboards, and gift certificates from many local businesses!
