DNA Energy Drink REEF Surf Contest Satellite Beach

At long last, the sun, the stars and the moon were in proper alignment to create fantastic (albeit cold) surfing conditions for the DNA Energy Drink and REEF Christmas surf contest which was held at Pelican Beach in Satelite Beach on Sunday March 8.

The nearly perfect conditions were exactly what the sponsors were hoping for and the waves were breaking just-right for an exciting contest. Waves were at their peak during the menehune finals. The under age 11 surfers competed in waves which, to them, were double over head

Surfers were juiced up with free DNA Energy Drinks and fortified with DNA Shred Stix, a yummy meat snack which is brand new in the DNA product line.

Adding to the excitement was a 30 minute heat Airshow in which ten surfers contributed a $20 entry fee which was pooled to give a purse to the surfer who scored highest.  Surfer’s waves only counted if they caught air.

Six finalists in every age categories won a wrapped “Christmas” gift which included coveted items contributed by their co-sponsors; Oakley Sunglasses, Vestal Watches, all kinds of REEF gear including boardshorts and sandals, and more.
