The 19th Annual Melbourne Main Street Fall Festival 2012 will begin on Friday, October 5th with a Kick-Off Party starting at 6PM including a Patron’s Party, four bands and food vendors in beautiful historic downtown Melbourne, Florida which holds some of the most diverse and well known restaurants, bars, shops and boutiques.  The Patron’s Party includes food and drinks at the exquisite Matt’s Casbah; for only $250 Patrons will enjoy other benefits such as a $100 in art vouchers to spend on fine arts and crafts. (For more information please email MelbourneFallFestival@gmail.com or call (321)594-2912.)

Headlining the evening’s Kick-Off Party entertainment on Friday is The Supervillians from Orlando Florida! Self-defined as reggae, rock, punk, ska and “nerd metal,” The Supervillians are high school buddies which include Dom on drums and vocals, Skart on guitar and vocals, Dan on bass and T-Rex on keyboards and guitar.  In the past five years they have averaged over 200 shows a year and released five albums, each a prolifically evolved representation of performance and songwriting. Together they perform an animated and dynamic show that has given the band their well deserved reputation of making you dance and sing along if it’s your first show or your hundredth!

Additional acts include The Spam Allstars, an eight piece original “electric descarga” band with a four member horn section from North Miami; Unknown Hinson who is a comedic country musician, songwriter, and voice actor. He is perhaps best known for his role as the voice of Early Cuyler on the Adult Swim cartoon series Squidbillies; Lone Wolf from Titusville who combines Blues, Folk and Punk performing as a one man band who consisting of Bruno Esposito singing raspy, dirty, vocals, playing slide banjo, the bass drum with his left foot and giving a thumb tap rhythm against the banjos’ snare like a drum while picking the strings and playing harmonica. His style creates a unique, authentic sound that is unlike anything you’ve ever heard.   DJ/announcer Lance-O of Kulcha Shock Muzik will bring the party to a close at 12:30AM.

Also, beginning at 7PM on Friday and 3PM on Saturday, Silent Events will be making their debut this year at the Festival with a Silent Disco!  At a Silent Disco rather than using a traditional speaker system the live music will be broadcasted by multiple DJs and picked up only by specially designed headphones to those wearing them.  Most commonly known for its annual presence at the Bonnaroo Music Festival, Silent Discos are quickly becoming a must-have addition at dozens of festivals, clubs, Greek/University parties and private events.  There will be 10 DJs over the course of Friday and Saturday that will play music ranging from House, Dub-Step, Top 40, an 80’s Michael Jackson session and headlining will be DJ Jeff Cox from Breckenridge, Colorado who will bring his Club Banger mixes straight from his club, Cecilia’s to the participants until late in the night.

Saturday morning, October 6th at 10AM brings the juried art show and Kid’s Zone! The juried art show and separate juried craft show consists of over 120 artists and crafters. The show will have artists from around the country with a large presence by our local Space Coast artists. The art selection includes traditional and contemporary painting, clay, pottery, metal sculpture, handcrafted one of a kind fine jewelry and innovative mixed media artworks. This year’s Kid’s Zone will include multiple bounce houses, animals and Rock Star Row which includes making your own VIP Backstage Pass, crazy hair, face paint, temporary tattoos and a VIP tent for the whole family to enjoy!

The entertainment for Saturday starts off at 12PM with Lance-O and the lineup includes The Bloody Jug Band who draw inspiration from historic jug bands of the 1920’s and 30’s as well as the darker side of Blues and Rock n’ Roll; Bless Ed, a Reggae jam band from Pinellas County; Tickle Foot from Ft. Pierce; KayaVibe, a post ska reggae rock band hailing from South Central Florida and The Crazy Carls from Orlando will bring their great party music with their catchy tunes and strong vocals. The band's spirit bounces with guitar solos that grab you and get you dancing. The sound is fresh and promises a good time with pop, rock, and funk medleys that will get the crowd ready for our headlining act Hip-Hop rapper, producer and actor Tone Loc!   Tone Loc soared from obscurity into pop stardom in when his hoarse voice and unmistakable delivery made the songs "Wild Thing" and “Funky Cold Medina” multi-platinum selling records and peaked on the music charts all over the world.  He was also nominated for and won several music awards. In addition to his music career, Tone Loc has appeared in over 35 films, TV shows and provided voices for cartoon characters since 1989.

Sunday, October 7th will start again at 10AM with the art show, Kid’s Zone and another fabulous day of music, food and fun!  From noon until 5PM you can again enjoy Lance-O, Cocoa Beach’s own Reggae Rock band One Drop Remedy and headlining will be UNRB; a 7-piece band from St. Petersburg. The band contains very unorthodox instrumentation by using an electric ukulele instead of a guitar and featuring a powerful 4 piece horn section that routinely switches instruments between songs. Their music touches almost every genre including ska, rock, funk, blues, jazz, reggae, polka, even some classical…nothing is off limits!

Don’t miss what is sure to be an amazing weekend filled with renowned musicians and artists among Melbourne’s beautiful downtown area located on Brevard County’s official Florida Main Street also named New Haven Avenue that is sure to satisfy the art, music and food lover of any age!
