14th Annual Crawfish Boil to benefit The Cancer Care

It’s time to suck some head’s and eat some tail’s!  Hey it’s your good old Kapn. Bone here and you guessed it, the Annual Crawfish  Boil is here! For those of you  not familiar with this event  your good old Kapn will fill you in. For the past 14 years Karen Melcher and her wonderful family have hosted this one of a kind local event, she has raised thousands of dollars for several organizations. This years charity is The Cancer Care Centers of Brevard County  www.cancercarebrevard.com .

Well the days started out with sunny sky’s and warm breezes but that soon changed ,with Mother Nature throwing us a curveball and a sixty mile an hour wind burst that just about leveling the entire event, things looked  grim at best. But you can’t hold good people down, with everyone working together we righted the ship.

 Here I was staring down fifteen box’s of live Crawfish drop shipped right to the event site, two bushels of corn and a hundred pounds of red potatoes, my path was clear. With big Pete at my side we started the boil. Everything after that was a blur with box after box going into the pot’s adding corn, potatoes and spice, we rocked it.

 A mere eight hours later and with five hundred pounds of Crayfish gone! The hundreds of people that joined us eating their fill and polishing off the five keg’s of beer, were already talking about next year !
