Points have been posted on the esancfl.org web page for the Spring Fling contest #1 and Daytona Board Store contest #2. Our next contest will be The Inlet Charleys surfshop @ New Smyrna Inlet, August 4th, 2012. As usual, you will be able to sign up online.(until the Wednesday night before the event, midnight is the cut-off). We will be charging late fees for beach sign up. We discussed trying to have an event during June or July, however, historically there is about a 11% chance of a contestable swell during these two summer months, so we decided to wait the flat spell out until August. Then we hope to get busy.
The local Surfrider Chapter is having an event on June 23, 2012 @ Ponce Inlet (Jetty Park). They are looking for volunteers and planning a beach clean-up along with some surfing and other things for kids of all ages. We encourage you to get out there and do your part to keep our ocean and beach clean. Our brothers and sisters in the SAFL district have a contest scheduled for July 4th, 2012, so check them out, as this is always a fun contest (if theres waves). Also, you could plan a trip to Nicaragua, it's not FLAT there during June or July, take a minute and check out Nica X-Treme Adventures. We have done a little bit of "Public Relations" work down there, and if you contact me, I can let you in on some killer package deals exclusively for TEAM NCFL!
We hope everyone has a SAFE and FUN Summer. In the meantime, all you rippers out there....keep training hard, keep stretching (Yoga works great), and eat your fruits and vegetables. Ride your skateboard around a little bit to keep those balance muscles working. And keep your fingers crossed that we get some good Tropical system waves to keep our spirits up. Easterns are in September, so keep your game "on". Practice, practice, and practice so that when you get up to Hatteras you're ripping! NCFL....represent.
