It’s your good old Kapn’ Bone here with a personal tale to tell of my recent dental experience in Costa Rica. You see as we all get older all of those bridges and cap’s in our mouths become loose, yellowed or in my case just fall out. So I go to a local Dentist who will remain nameless and book an appointment. After the X-Rays were taken and a plan of action was formed we got to the bottom line $28,0039.00!!!!!! I don’t know about you but this amount really floored me. Luckily I was entertaining friends from Costa Rica and they suggested their Dentist Dr. Selena Cubero of Premier Dental Care Center and we called to see how much this massive amount of work would be there. After one phone call and a description of what need to be done I was told it would be around $2300.00! Do the math, next thing I know I’m on a plane to Costa Rica $250.00 round trip out of Ft. Lauderdale.
Everyone hates the Dentist in fact 4 out of 5 people admit to having fear of Dental procedures and 1 out of 7 never undergo any dental treatment at all.
Some of the fears are:
Bad experience in the past.
Dentists being portrayed in a bad light in the Media
The waiting room, where sounds of other peoples dental work can be heard
Family and friends insensitively making remarks about their past bad experiences
A fear of being judged by the Dentist, they have obviously have been neglecting their mouth.
A fear of lack of control while the dental procedures are being preformed.
I arrive on Monday and made my way from San Jose to the Pacific town of Jaco Beach. I go directly to see Dr. Cubero and take some X-Rays. We decide on a plan to get the work done and I return the next day to start. I have had several Dentists in my time but never a woman. The entire time from beginning to end of my work I was NEVER in any pain. Dr. Cubero had the softest touch and was quick and efficient. I actually begged her to do a root canal the day before I left. I had an extraction, two root canals and a five tooth bridge done in six day’s! I was prescribed pain killers but was in no discomfort after my appointment I walked three miles to my friends restaurant. It’s a shame that thing in our country have gone so haywire with health care and greedy doctors but this is a bonified solution to all of your dental need’s.
