I've been thinking about having a go at surfing every summer for the last 4 years however I've kept putting it off because of sharks. I'm really paranoid that I'll get eaten by a shark or some jelly fish would sting me and I'll find myself paralysed in the middle of the sea, which would result in drowning.

And I'm on a bit of a budget so I was wondering if youtube videos would be sufficient to learn how to surf or would I have to get classes?
