Any advice/experience with Barefoot Surf Travel's surf camp?

I'm a total beginner looking to dive into learning how to surf with comprehensive coaching. It costs about $2.6K for 7 days (at least in Costa Rica) and I was wondering if anyone has any tips or experiences with this particular company. Is this a good price or a rip-off?

And I'd be happy to learn really anything and everything about how to start out - whether thats particular surf camps/lessons/videos etc. I'm in my mid-20s if that helps any. Thanks!

RE:Any advice/experience with Barefoot Surf Travel's surf camp?

Don't get me wrong, Costa is a great place to surf but I would definatly check out a local Surf school first before dropping the money on a trip.  How to surf videos are all over Youtube but a good instructor would be the way to go.  Also a nice boyant bboard to get started on that doesn't break the bank is good.  I reviewed a 8' Wavestorm foam baord and was really impressed with it for a beginner board that only ran 150 bucks.  Where do you live?

I'm hesitating between these two: Surf Simply and Barefoot Surf Travel's surf camp. Surf Simply offers online coaching and 1:1 Workshops ($45 per person). There's also a Video Feedback feature with your personal coach. I'm not sure how many lessons I actually need and I can't count the total sum right away..

Although Costa is a fantastic place to surf, I would definitely check out a nearby surf school before spending money on a trip. Videos on how to surf may be found all over YouTube, although a skilled instructor would be preferable.
