just moved here from upstate new york used ta do sum cliff and bridge jumping...anyone done 528 or 520 bridge i think 520 is the smaller of the two but im not sure on heights, pineda causeway seems to be the tallest so im trying to start small....pretty sure it is punishable by disordly conduct is the only problem..

Life Rolls On Foundation presents "They will surf again"

Life Rolls On Foundation presents "They will surf again"a program where dozens of abled bodied volunteers get together to help some amazing individuals with spinal cord injury (paraplegic and quadriplegic) to experience the magic and joy of surfing. This is truly a life altering experience for both the volunteer and disabled participants.

The Cocoa Beach area will host the Life Rolls On Foundation, "They will surf again" on July 25th, 2009 at Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach. This is the 3rd year in a row we've had the pleasure of putting on the event here in Cocoa Beach. We are inviting all media-outlets to document this special event for the community as a whole. It will be an awe-inspiring occasion for so many. We hope that with your help, we can inspire the community to accomplish more than they ever believed possible.

Life Rolls On is a non-profit 501 (C3) organization that exists to be a grassroots resource that provides hope and is an advocate on behalf of young people whose lives have been affected by spinal cord injury (SCI). Life Rolls On instilling in people that life with SCI does indeed roll on.

All - The Volunteer Fire Department will be holding a free car wash this Sunday, July 19th at the Indialantic Plaza (old Path Plaza) by Long Doggers. 10 am - 4 pm, all donations are greatly appreciated. Friends & Family - Indialantic Volunteer Fire Department has started collecting items for a Yard Sale fund raiser. We are more than happy to come pick up items at your house if need be or you can drop them off any time at our fire house (or just pass them on to me & I will bring them there). If you have any items that you need to get rid of or think they may raise us some money, we'd appreciate it. We just spent a bunch of money on bunker gear lockers (they are great) and we bought a couple rescue jet skis since our boat has been on the blintz lately. With the money we raise we assist our volunteers with their fire education classes & purchase very needed gear and supplies through out the year. Our Yard Sale will be August 1st in the parking lot of Path Plaza, by Long Doggers. Thank you for all your support!

As many of you may or may not know, June 20,2009 is International Surf Day! Come out and celebrate with the Palm Beach County Chapter of Surfrider Foundation and the Snook Foundation at the Surfin' Snook Summer Jam!! Live concert performances include headliner JJ Grey of Mofro performing a rare acoustical set along with Australian recording artist and surfer Will Conner, local artists Peter Stein of Truckstop Coffee and Joey George. Great “green” exhibits and vendors, fishing demonstrations, tournament awards party, fly tying/casting, stand up paddle surfing demonstrations, children’s activities and unique food vendors will be showcased in the brand new amphitheater with lawn seating. This all ages show will take place at the Sunset Cove Amphitheatre in Boca Raton, June 20, 2009 from 3:30p.m.- 10p.m. Tickets are $22 in advance and available at www.surfriderpbc.org.

Sales Rep Needed for Maori style Jewelry

Game 1 Analysis

Welcome to the playoffs, Cleveland!
After eight consecutive double digit wins against the Detroit Pistons and the Atlanta Hawks, the top seeded Cleveland Cavaliers finally found themselves in a close game in game one of the Eastern Conference finals against the Magic. Orlando’s 107-106 win was the Magic’s 5th post-season game decided by three points or less.

Lewis and Turkoglu…finish strong
Rashard Lewis didn’t make a field goal til 5:22 to play in the 2nd quarter. Hedo Turkoglu’s first basket came about thirty seconds later. But in the critical 4th quarter, the Magic’s fabulous forward tandem came up big, scoring Orlando’s final 17 points.

Rashard Lewis..Magic Money Man
All too often in his Magic career when “Lewis” and “money” have been mentioned in the same sentence, there has been a reference to Rashard’s sizeable salary. In this post-season, Lewis has been a money man on the floor. Time and time again, Rashard has made big plays for the Magic. None bigger than his game winning three pointer with 14.7 seconds to play on Wednesday night. Forget the dollars and cents, Lewis continues to make perfect sense for this Orlando team. An ideal compliment to Dwight Howard.

LeBron vs. Rafer?
Cleveland coach Mike Brown pulled a surprise in game one, putting Lebron James on Magic point guard, Rafer Alston. It looked like a winning ploy in the first half with Alston not much of a factor and the Cavs dominating the game. But in the second half, Alston was much more aggressive on offense. James had to work harder on the defensive end, and by the end of the game, King James appeared to be wearing down. Still, we were all witness to an incredible individual performance by Lebron James who scored a playoff career high 49 points.

It’s all about the match-ups
J.J. Redick played a key role for the Magic in the second round series against Boston, starting at the 2-guard position opposite the Celtics Ray Allen. Redick didn’t get off the bench in game one Wednesday night against Cleveland with rookie Courtney Lee getting the call. Is there any team sport in which individual matchups are as important as in the NBA?

The alley-oop is back!
Largely absent from the Boston series due to excellent post-defense by the Celtics, the Turkoglu to Howard alley-oop lob resurfaced in game one against the Cavs. Three times, Turk and Dwight caught Cleveland defenders napping with the lob above the rim. Against the Celtics Orlando had a big matchup advantage with Rashard Lewis. In this series, Dwight Howard is going to be very difficult for any one Cavalier to stop, as his 30 point/13 rebounds Wednesday night attest to.

Kudos to the bench
Mickael Pietrus, Anthony Johnson, Marcin Gortat and Tony Battie all delivered solid performances off the Orlando bench, outscoring the Cavalier bench 25-5. Pietrus, in particular deserves praise. He continues to play with composure on both ends of the floor. Sounds ridiculous when a guy gets 49 points, but Mikael’s defense on Lebron James was quite good. James is just amazing. And Anthony Johnson, what a valuable guy to have off the bench. The man with the most post-season experience on the team knocked down an early 4th quarter three to give the Magic their first lead of the night.

One miracle shot shy of victory
Cleveland’s Mo Williams hit a 65 foot hoist at the end of the 2nd quarter to give the Cavs a 15 point lead. His off balance 20 footer off a jump ball at the buzzer that would’ve won the game for Cleveland was just off the mark.

Home team loses game one? Again?
For the third consecutive playoff series the Magic have been involved in this year, the home team has lost game one. Orlando lost game one at home to Philadelphia in the first round, and won game one at Boston in round two. Now, a win in Cleveland to take home court advantage away from the Cavaliers. This series has a long way to go, but coming from 15 down at the half to hand Cleveland just their 3rd home court loss of the season is an impressive start to the Eastern Conference finals for the Magic.

Ventura Film Festival Screening More than 100 Films From June 29-July 5, 2009 The Ventura Film Festival is set to have a full week of screenings of more than 100 feature films, shorts, and documentaries from June 29 through July 5, 2009 at the Majestic Ventura Theater. This includes screenings during the city of Ventura's biggest street fair that will attract over 45,000 people during the 4th of July weekend. The Ventura Film Festival is a 100% volunteer based organization that was founded in 2004 by longtime Ventura, California residents and Ventura High School graduates and has received submissions from BBC award winning filmmakers, popular surf films, documentaries, and films from USC School of Film graduates and local Brooks Institute film students. The Ventura Film Festival raises money for forest and ocean preservation and for local and international environmental charities and other select non-profit organizations. Get in the Chop – SG supporting Local Biz Owners!

There’s only one spot on the island to get your head done, as far as I’m concerned- The Chop Shop on

the corner of AIA and Eau Gallie.

Cap’n Kean’0 and I were cruising around on the island the other day and what did we spy? A Hair

Salon with a sign that read “Dreads” and a few other things, but we only saw that! Now, this was

something totally new to the island and something both me and the Cap’n have wanted for some time,

so it became time to investigate. What we found inside was a beautiful local girl, Maggie De Jesus, the owner and operator of this

totally chillin’ hair-art studio. As soon as we walked in we felt we were in a place totally tailored

around our communities laid back island energies.

Maggie was raised right here in Indian Harbour Beach and attended Melbourne Beauty School to get

her license to create. She has been doing so for the last 10yrs, and does it oh so well.

What this girl does is amazing, comparative to my experiences in most hair establishments; it was

more then a refreshing change. I got a whole new look and outlook!

After our interview, I wanted to just sit and watch her work and did so in a most relaxing

environment. I watched her as she listened carefully to her clients words, going over in detail their

desires, examining her ‘palate’ from every angle and making sure she was crystal clear before she even

considers a cut. It’s like watching an artist lightly sketch their subject on canvas before beginning to

paint.

Her shop is a wonderful step back into a time when rock and roll ruled with a kiss of class that will

make everyone comfortable. She worked hard on the place to have it reflect who SHE is and who she

loves, people, and it really shows. There’s always cool tunes spinning and Maggie’s a wonderful

listener and great story teller and just good people to be around. And what a brilliant smile! When you

leave, you don’t just feel like you’ve gotten a hair change, but a soul-shift.

Not only is her head in the right place, her heart is as well. Maggie stays well involved with her

community such as a recent gig to benefit Locks of Love, a charity that provides hairpieces to

financially disadvantaged children, who suffer from long term medical hair loss.
Maggie loves to throw ‘block parties’ where she hosts surf-sample sales with companies such as

Hurley, Villion, Drive By Styles and and more…and soon, Surfguru Live will be there pumping the
