You may have already started hearing about the 2008 Boards & Waves Expo--"a surf expo for consumers"--coming to the oceanfront Daytona Beach  Resort & Conference Center July 12 &13!. 

Shaping demos, surfboard painting & art by Drew Brophy, the Young Guns of Foam featuring today's up-and-coming shapers, seminars with top shapers and Surfline's Mike Watson, StandUpPaddle demos, free product giveaways, and more will highlight this two day event. The Boards & Waves Expo will allow consumers the unique opportunity to talk face-to-face with over 70 of the industry's top shapers, fin designers, foam & accessory manufacturers, local surf retailers, pro & amateur surfers, and more in a fun, friendly, and informative environment.  Some of the key exhibitors to date include Lost, Hot Batch, Firewire, Ricky Carroll, Chris Birch, Viking, Pure Island, FCS, Futures, Ice9, Rainbow, and more. 

Like the highly successful Sacred Event in Southern California, the Boards & Waves Expo is focused on surfboards and hardgoods-.  As a 26 year veteran of the action sports industry, I'm stoked to bring this type of event to the East Coast, while helping to promote the retail sales of surfboards and accessories.

With ads in Eastern Surf Mag, SurfGuru.com, Surfline.com, support from the Daytona Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau, along with local & regional TV, radio, and print, the Expo will be getting lots of exposure.  Admission is $5.00 daily; a portion of the proceeds will benefit the local Surfrider Foundation chapters.
